Borrring...

I know that a lot of my posts lately have been about kids, but I can't help but not tell this one. I would like to think that I'm pretty well trained with kids, but you never know I guess. Last night in my Bible class with the little ones I decided to read, "You are Special" by Max Lucado. It's one of my favorite books, and really thought that the kids would enjoy it.

So I start reading the book and the kids were really into it. I kept reading then all of a sudden a little boy named Aidan shouted out..."Kat this is boring!" I ignored his statement and kept reading. A few pages later he started saying...Borrrring.....Borrring. I didn't know what to do, I told him to please listen and I know he'll enjoy the ending.

Well after the story was over I planned an activity to where the kids would say kind things about the other kids in the class and every time something nice was said about you, you would recieve a star...kind of like the story.

Well I had Aidan go first, hoping this would get him interested. He said, "I'll say something about you Kat. "Yes I thought...I can never get enough compliments, just kidding. Well guess what Aidan said...."Kat, you're borrring!"

I've never experienced this kind of self esteem loss....except that one time when Kenli and E-Wall had that cheer about me....jerks. Anyway, I went along with class and just told myself that he had picked that up from some tv show or something and that I really am a better teacher than he thinks.

On a side note...there are some opportunities with my job so keep that in your prayers!
