Finally...an update!

So....when Clint went away for the summer, I had every intention to blog more frequently. I really didn't mean to let more than a month go by without posting....I guess the phrase, "see you in August," applied to more people than just Clint! So sorry...I know you've been checking everyday...yeah right.

Here's a quick overview of the summer so far!

Clint spent about 3 weeks over in Europe. He took a week long course in Croatia, then got to travel for another week or so to Florence, Munich, and Austria. He had many great stories to share when he got back...and emptied our bank account while over there. Awesome. This is a lady who cooked for him on more than one occasion (I think.) She couldn't speak a word of English, but insisted that Clint sit down and eat the bean soup she had prepared all day for him. She was a Christian and from what I know...adored Clint.



While Clint was traveling the world, I was busy doing really important things too. You can tell from the picture below that I spent my weekends dressing up like an American Gladiator and challenging 12 year olds to jousting competitions. It was for Highland's youth retreat and actually proved to be quite fun!



Last weekend I went to Amarillo to run my first ever 5K. My mom has been running a few of these and really wanted my sister and I to run one. So...I went up to Amarillo last weekend; ran the race, heard Clint preach, and got to spend some good time with my family. Here's my sister, mom and me before the race began.



I was actually really nervous about running a race, but it turned out to be just perfect. The weather was really cool and running on brick streets in the midst of tall trees is the way to go!



Please disregard my sweaty hair and red face. Don't worry though, right after this I ate a huge plate of pecan pancakes...I deserved it right?



Things to look forward to in July: family vacation at Lake Travis, Rosalyn's 4th of July wedding, and Brittany's wedding! I LOVE summer.
